Jack Nicklaus discusses Beta Force?

Beta Force is defined as the force a golf puts across the shaft, whether it be forward or backward. The first two images below, from the Science of the Golf Swing, define Beta Force. When a golfer beta forces the club, it is very likely that the club will move toward the arm in which it is being forced. In the third image below, you will see an old picture from an article in PGA Magazine where I demonstrated negative beta force which resulted in the club pinning up against my front arm. The opposite of that move would be the classic lagging clubhead takeaway where the club moves towards the trail arm and occurs from positive beta force.

In this old video clip, Jack Nicklaus talks about how he likes to keep the club between his arms. In my opinion, he is describing a swing with an intent to limit beta force. I love this old clip!
